Solomon Islands – Hope School

One of the most remarkable places I visited during my week in Honiara is Hope School. This school was set up by a Solomon Island couple wanting to make a difference to the lives of children who would otherwise not be attending school or getting any form of education. The school is open to children whose family can not afford tuition fees and to children who would otherwise be wandering the streets. Hope School is staffed by volunteers, teaching subjects and skills that they are proficiant at. Currently there are about 130 children attending the school with about 30 staff. Chris Palethorpe and Emma Fulu have established the Hope School Foundation in February 2009 and are receiving donations of school materials and financial contributions. If you’d like to get involved, please contact us to see how you can make a difference to a childs life.
